Operations Manager- South Gate, CA

Armstrong Flooring, Inc. (AFI) has an opportunity for a seasoned Operations Manager who will bring innovation and strong leadership skills to continually improve the manufacturing operations in one of Armstrong's most critical resilient flooring plants- South Gate, CA. Under the guidance of the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for effective management and coordination of all production operations associated with the South Gate facility as well as providing general technical and process support for Resilient Flooring.Duties and Responsibilities:Modeling the personal and organizational leadership needed to deliver an effective safety process, cultivating an effective safety culture and ensuring safe work performance of multiple production linesEnsuring the effective performance of production and maintenance operations, including safety, quality, delivery and costPromoting continuous improvement by developing and maintaining systems utilizing tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, etc.Tracking plant and department performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing actions to improve performanceEffectively managing and developing salaried and hourly personnelPromoting a positive work environment through strong leadership, employee relations, and conflict resolution skillsPreparing and managing both annual production line budgets; Assisting in managing the plant budget and capital improvement projectsSupporting product development and continuous improvement projectsParticipating as a member of plant leadership teams, including the Safety Leadership Team and Lean Steering CommitteeSupervisory Responsibilities: Manages operational support team which includes production supervisors, process engineerTravel:Occasional travel for conferences, vendor meetings or similar activities may be required (Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent fieldMinimum of 10 years manufacturing experience in a durable goods industry, with at least 5 years in a management roleSuccessful track record of achieving plant operational goalsDemonstrated knowledge, understanding, and implementation of process improvement methodologies, including Lean and Six SigmaExperience driving and supporting innovative manufacturing systemsExperience supporting and implementing organization development and human resources initiativesBusiness knowledge of budget, asset and cost structure managementMust be able to complete the Ishihara test for color blindness and the Farnsworth-Munsell 100-hue color testPreferred Qualifications:Master's degreeSix Sigma Green Belt certificationLean Certification SAP experienceKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Excellent organizational and teamwork skillsStrong attention to detailAbility to follow established policies and proceduresProficient computer skills including MS OfficeAbility and willingness to work core hours to support the needs of different shiftsCompetencies:Advanced Decision MakingBuilding Collaborative Work RelationshipsBuilding TrustCompelling CommunicationCustomer FocusDriving for ResultsFacilitating ChangePlanning and Organization

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
