?Premier chemical distributor has a fantastic opportunity for a Collections Specialist!

Summary Maintains accounts receivable records and conducts collection activities by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Call customers as necessary for collection and reconciliation purposes to update accounts. Review aging/trial balance report to identify past due invoices for follow-up. Respond to W-9 requests in a timely manner. Gather required information for the Credit and Collection Managers needed to determine order releases. Respond to customer requests for billing related documentation quickly and professionally. Identify, research and resolve all short-payments on the aging in a timely manner. Meet regularly with Collections Manager to discuss aging/trial balance issues. Collect funds on all NSF checks. Answer accounts receivable phone inquiries and follow up in a timely and professional manner. Observe, follow and enforce all company Policies and Procedures. Attend all required training when scheduled unless absent from work. This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Possess basic level of skill with Microsoft Word and Excel, and Lotus Notes. AS400 BUS experience a plus. Possess data entry experience with minimal error percentage. Ability to prioritize work to meet time-sensitive deadlines. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, basic accounting knowledge helpful. Possess excellent written/oral communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, including upper management. Possess excellent problem solving skills with attention to detail. Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school a plus, or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
